Southern Africa embraces a kaleidoscope of landforms and habitats including: deserts, grasslands, mountains, forests, moist and arid savannahs and the unique karoo and fynbos biomes. Associated with these diverse habitats is a varied collection of close on 950 bird species of which 150 are endemic to the sub-region, making this one of the world’s premier birding destinations.

Eden Routes takes pleasure in sharing this remarkable natural asset with birders of all ages and experience levels. Each custom designed birding tour is personally led by Joe Grosel, a highly qualified safari guide, ecologist and ornithologist with an in-depth knowledge and experience of the entire southern African sub-region.

Top birding destinations that form part of our tour itineraries include: South Africa’s Kruger National Park, Zululand, the Limpopo Province, the arid Kalahari, central Mozambique, the Cape Peninsula, Botswana’s Chobe and Okavango regions, the lush upper Zambezi River and the deserts of Namibia. Not only do these destinations provide superb birding but they also offer a great diversity of other wildlife and spectacular African landscapes.

Eden Routes prides itself on professional service and through fine attention to detail an intimate and exclusive service is provided. Travelling is done in spacious air-conditioned minibuses and where necessary in open-air safari vehicles while comfortable accommodation is ensured throughout.
